Dr. Theodore G. Shultz
Dr. Shultz is from Indiana where he attended college and subsequently graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1973. His Internal Medicine training was at at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta, GA from 1973-1976. His Pulmonary and Critical Care training included fellowships at the Atlanta VA Hospital and subsequently the University of Texas Medical Center in Houston,1977-1978. He has practiced Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in Salem since 1979. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease. He is chairman of the Code Blue Committee and serves as a member of the Salem Hospital Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. His hobbies include whitewater rafting, gardening, travel, and he has enjoyed working with youth through the Boy Scouts of America programs for many years. He is married with 4 children.
Dr. James Parosa
Dr. Parosa was born and raised in the Northwest. He did undergraduate work at the University of Oregon and Graduated from OHSU in 1974. From there he went to the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, and Pulmonary Medicine Fellowship. He returned to Salem, Oregon in 1979, where he has practiced ever since. As one of the originals founders of Salem Pulmonary Associates, he has held various leadership positions in the Salem Hospital Medical Staff. His medical interests include venous and vascular disease and anti-coagulation. Dr. Parosa first received board certification in Internal Medicine in 1977 and Pulmonary Medicine in 1991. His special interests include fishing of various types, golfing, U of O athletics, and cultivating “Giacomo Garlic”: a high quality organic garlic.
Dr. Steven Marvel
Dr. Marvel is a native Oregonian. He completed medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland in 1979. Dr. Marvel trained at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans for internship and internal medicine residency. His pulmonary and critical care fellowship specialty training was completed in 1984 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. After six years in private practice in Visalia, California, he joined Salem Pulmonary Associates in 1990. He currently has a special study interest in the area of sepsis. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease. Dr. Marvel is married with three adult children.
Dr. Martin Johnson II
Dr. Johnson was born in Rochester, Minnesota. He attended medical school at University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine in 1987. His internship and residency for Internal Medicine was done at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Terrance, Calf from 1987-1990. His fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA lasted from 1991-94. He has board certifications in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. His professional interests include sleep-related breathing disorders and chronic respiratiory failure. His hobbies consist of sports, exercise, reading, and family adventures.
Dr. Kamran Firoozi
Dr. Firoozi attended medical school at Tehran University of Medical Sciences and finished in 1994. He completed his Internal Medicine and Residency at St.Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center for Physicians and Surgeons in 2000. Dr. Firoozi completed his fellowship for Pulmonary and Critical Care at Los Angeles County and Univeristy of Southern California Medical Center in 2005. He then moved to Salem in July 2005 and has been here serving the greater Salem Area. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Sleep Mediciane and Pulmonary Disease.
Dr. Saleh A. Ismail
Dr. Ismail moved to Salem in 2008, after completing his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT in 2007. He received his B.S. in Chemistry and his M.D. from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He recieved his board certification in Internal Medicine from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He has board certifications in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Ismail has had several articles published and sited by both the American Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Fayez A. Bader
Dr. Bader has relocated to Salem from Brooklyn, New York where he completed fellowships in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine at State University of New York in Brooklyn, New York. He has recieved his B.S. in Biology from the Free University in Berlin. He is board certified in internal, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Nimeshkumar Mehta
Dr. Mehta relocated to Salem from Valhalla, New York three years ago, where he has completed his fellowhsips in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Westchester Medical Center in New York. He received his MBBS in medicine from Government Medical College in Surat Gujaret, India. He is board certified in Internal, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Kishan Ramachandran
Dr. Ramachandran relocated to Salem three years ago from Brooklyn, New York, where he completed his fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center. He received his MMBS in medicine from Bangalore Medical College Fort, Bangalore, India.
Dr. Ng relocated to Salem from Portland, Oregon, where she completed her fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. She received her Internal Medicine training at Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio.
Dr. Kavan Ramachandran
Dr. Ramachandran relocated to Salem three years ago from Brooklyn, New York, where he completed his fellowship in Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center. He received his MMBS in medicine from Bangalore Medical College Fort, Bangalore, India.
Dr. Bijaya Shrestha
Dr. Shrestha has relocating to Salem from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he completed his fellowships in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine as well as Interventional Pulmonary Medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Center in North Carolina. He received his M.B.B.S. in medicine from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is board Certified in Internal, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Bharat Prakash
Dr. Prakash has relocating to Salem from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he completed his fellowships in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine as well as Interventional Pulmonary Medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Center in North Carolina. He received his M.B.B.S. in medicine from J.L.N. Medical College in Aligarh, India. He is board certified in Internal, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine. (His picture will be posted soon)
